Supporting daily life and delivering safety and value defines our purpose and remains the unchanging foundation of our management philosophy. This philosophy is more than a slogan. It reflects our resolve as a corporate citizen to fulfill our responsibilities to the environment, society, and our stakeholders.

As we face complex social challenges, including population decline, an aging population, new post-pandemic lifestyles, rising geopolitical risks, climate change, the conservation of biodiversity and water resources, and resource circulation, we place sustainability at the core of our management. We aim to create a virtuous cycle in which addressing social challenges also enhances corporate value. These efforts also contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs.

Environment

Through the products and services we provide to support daily life, we conduct business activities with an emphasis on harmony with the environment.

In the Packaging Business,we use materials from renewable sources, develop environmentally conscious packaging, and introduce renewable energy. In the Housing Business, we draw on Sweden’s advanced housing culture to design highly insulated and airtight homes that reduce energy consumption while providing a comfortable living environment. In the Transportation and Logistics Business, we are working to reduce environmental impact across the value chain and improve quality by building efficient transportation systems. Through these efforts, we aim to create sustainable value through our businesses.

Society

As a corporate citizen, we promote initiatives aimed at living in harmony with local communities, respecting human rights, and building a sustainable society.

We work to balance environmental conservation and respect for human rights by using wood resources sustainably and conducting human rights due diligence across the supply chain. We also actively engage with local communities and work to address social issues.

We are also working to protect the health and safety of our employees and create a workplace where diverse talent can thrive. By promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, we seek to foster an organizational culture in which differences are respected and each individual can fully realize their potential. We are also strengthening our efforts to support the well-being of employees and their families through workstyle reform and health and productivity management.

Stakeholder Engagement

We are responsible to all stakeholders involved in our business activities. We will continue to meet the expectations of our shareholders, employees, customers, business partners, local communities, and other stakeholders by acting fairly and transparently, building trust, and working toward a sustainable society.

We have established an ESG Promotion Office to promote responses to sustainability issues across the Group. Through the disclosure of sustainability information and dialogue with our stakeholders, we aim to meet society’s expectations, carry forward the spirit of “Tsutsumu” into the future, and remain a trusted company.
