1940–1989; Founding and Nationwide Expansion

The history of Tomoku traces back to the establishment of Toyo Wood Products Co., Ltd. on May 27, 1949.
Beginning with timber processing, sales, and transportation operations, the Company launched corrugated box manufacturing and sales at the Otaru Paper Goods Works in January 1956 — marking the start of what is now its core Packaging Business.
In January 1971, the Company adopted its current name, Tomoku Co., Ltd.
In April 1974, shares were listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Sapporo Securities Exchange and were designated as First Section stocks on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in February 1981.

1990–2018; Global Expansion and Business Diversification

In October 1990, the Company established Southland Box Company in Los Angeles, California, marking its entry into overseas operations.
On the technology front, the Atsugi Works opened in January 2006, introducing what was at the time the world's first corrugating machine capable of running at 350 meters per minute.
In March 2011, the Tatebayashi Works launched the TM450 — developed through the Company's proprietary technology and the world's fastest corrugating machine at 450 meters per minute.
In April 2013, the Company further expanded its international presence with the establishment of Tomoku Vietnam in Vietnam.

May 1991	Established Tomoku Hus AB as a consolidated subsidiary in Insjon, Sweden

2019–Present; Group Restructuring and Continued Growth

Having marked the 70th anniversary of its founding in May 2019, the Company continued to expand its business portfolio. In September 2023, Tomoku acquired all shares of Khang Thanh Manufacturing Joint Stock Company, converting it into a wholly owned subsidiary and renaming it Khang Thanh Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Vietnam.
