TOMOKU is determined to protect the earth environment and establish a sustainable society on a corporate basis through tenuous efforts in every activity the company undertakes. The Tatebayashi Works and Osaka Works have acquired ISO14001 certification, and SwedenHouse Co. became the first Japanese housing supplier to receive a commendation from the Minister of the Environment for its outstanding activities in the prevention of global warming (awarded by the Department for the Introduction and Popularization of Prevention Technologies of the Ministry of Environment in 2004.) |

(1) We shall comply with all laws and regulations related to environmental protection and
establish our own regulations when necessary.
(2) We shall promote resource saving, energy saving, energy reduction, and the recycling of
waste materials.
(3) We shall protect the environment by developing and engineering recyclable, reusable prod
ucts that consume fewer resources.
(4) We shall educate and train our workforce on environmental issues to heighten their envi
ronmental consciousness. |

| We shall strive to preserve natural resources and reduce the consumption of resources such as paper, electricity, petroleum, and city water. |

| We shall reduce the generation of industrial wastes and promote the recycling of resources and segregated discharge of industrial wastes. |

| We shall promote the 4S Activities (preservation of an organized, orderly, sanitary, and clean working environment) with the use of check sheets to clearly identify the individual roles of TOMOKU employees, and we shall continuously improve our efforts in this direction. |

TOMOKU established a Central Ecology Improvement Commission to promote environmental education and formulate safety measures to be applied in the storage and stocking of dangerous substances. Environmental education will heighten the environment consciousness of TOMOKU employees and improved safety measures will reinforce our defenses against environmental degradation due to the leakage of toxic and hazardous substances. |
